Tour Route:
Our journey starts at "Otrabanda," where we'll marvel at impeccably restored eighteenth-century buildings. Heading west, we'll explore magnificent plantation houses, with our first destination being "Kas di Kunuku" (entrance fee not included in the tour). This intimate museum offers a glimpse into the lives of Curaçao's native people in the past. Next on our westward tour is "Museo Ka'i Orgel" (entrance fee not included), home to a precious piece of our history—the nineteenth-century music organ box. Prepare to be treated to delightful samples of our original tunes. Our third stop takes us to "Landhuis Knip" (entrance fee not included), the largest and historically significant plantation house on the island. It played a pivotal role in the rebellion leading to the abolition of slavery.
Upon request before our return journey, we can make a stop for some delectable local food. "Jaanchie's" restaurant offers the option to savor two different dishes while the owner shares captivating stories about local culinary traditions. Beware of our charming sugar-thieves! They might steal your heart! Another option is "Landhuis Dokterstuin," a grand plantation house transformed into a charming restaurant. Taste our delightful local cuisine, prepared with the same loving traditions as in the past, and soak in more of our history.
The tour will be concluded after one of these two options and we'll head back to the starting point.
